Beneath The River
“Right in our backyard is one of the most undiscovered habitats that you can imagine.”
— Ed Klekowski, Biologist
Beneath the River takes you on a journey through time to explore the origins of the Connecticut River and the Connecticut River Valley. Led by Professor of Biology and scuba diver, Ed Klekowski, and a team of University of Massachusetts graduate students, the video delves below the river’s surface to reveal its natural and human history: unusual plant and animal life, catastrophic bridge wrecks, ancient waterfalls, and mysterious caverns. For the risk-taking explorer or the armchair adventurer, Beneath the River explores a world which for thousands of years was hidden from our view.
